Live Cricket Score - Australia vs India, 2nd Test, Day 1, Perth

Stumps

What a day! On a tough pitch, Australia's batsmen have helped them get slightly ahead of the game. They will, however, be disappointed with some of the shots they were dismissed by. They could've been in a much stronger position if only they had applied themselves more. For India, their bowlers have toiled hard, and have ensured they have kept them in the game. They will want to wrap up the innings before Australia's score reaches an ominous size. AUSTRALIA 277/6

Marsh, Head fall

India find their success late in the day, and they are big wickets too. Shaun Marsh falls to India's rather weird plan of letting the batsmen cut. Marsh opts for it, and only edges to Rahane at slips, who doesn't miss out.

Head then turns headless as the new ball is taken. A wild drive to a wide delivery from Ishant sees the ball fly to third man, where Shami takes the catch. Two half centurions depart as Stumps loom. Australia will be kicking themselves.

Pant drops Marsh

India have missed a big chance. Shaun Marsh edges a cut, and Rishabh Pant puts down what seemed a simple chance. Popped in and out of his gloves.

India strike back before Tea

Big fightback from India here. Umesh yadav gets rid of a struggling Usman Khawaja, while Hanuma Vihari accounts for the well set Marcus Harris. Australia go into Tea at 145/3, and India have their tails up.

Finch falls after fifty

Aaron Finch brings up his second Test fifty, soon after he was given two hit-me balls from India's lead spinner (yes, I know) Hanuma Vihari. Bumrah is brought back into the next over, and pings the right-hander on the crease with a full ball. First breakthrough for India. 112/1

Fifty for Harris

A fifty for the homegrown boy! Marcus Harris has brought up a highly impressive fifty, his first, hopefully of many, in Test cricket. He has looked far more assertive post Lunch, and Australia have rattled on a t a good pace since then.

Lunch

What a wonderful session this for Australia. After all the talk about a menacing Perth pitch, Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris have eased the nervous with some great patience and application. Australia are 66/0 at Lumch, and look good for far more when play resumes.
